Senior Vice Commander Don Schmidt joined the U.S. Air Force in 1974 and retired from military service in 2000. While on active duty, he served in special duty assignments directly with the Department of Defense and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He was deployed as a combat journalist for Operation Desert Storm in Oman and Saudi Arabia and Operation Allied Force in Kosovo. Upon military retirement, Don began a career with The Boeing Company where he managed corporate communications at the company's world headquarters in Chicago, prior to transferring to Seattle to manage communications organizations for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Don is a Life Member of VFW Post 1263.
